A dated culture-to-affairs bridge

The 3 October 2026 announcement approved five centres: Assamese at Tezpur University, Bengali at Visva-Bharati, Marathi at Deccan College, Pali at Central University of Odisha and Prakrit at Central University of Gujarat. They support research, preservation and digitisation.

Approval of an academic centre is a distinct event from recognition of a language as classical. Do not use the date of this announcement as the date of classical recognition. A centre’s host institution and state make useful paired revision facts.

Create a map, then recall it

Place each host institution on a blank state map. Cover the labels and recall the language first, then the institution. Link this dated update to your static notes on literary traditions, while verifying further historical claims from suitable sources.
